Samsung has finally decided that they will be focusing on the mid-range mobile phones.

Samsung will be adding the Galaxy M series in their mid-range phones section on the 28th of January 2019. Samsung has announced the launch of the phone on Amazon India via India Today. It is expected that Samsung will be coming up with three phones, the Samsung M10, the Samsung M20, and the Samsung M30. It is expected that Samsung will be featuring the Samsung’s new teardrop display, which they are calling Infinity V.

Samsung has been talking about this display for quite some time and people are really excited to see it. Samsung was the leader of mid-range phones in Indian market, but after Xiaomi came to the market, Samsung lost its spot to Xiaomi. Samsung decided to make a comeback with the Galaxy M series because they were under a lot of pressure from the Chinese rivals in the country.

According to data that was collected from Counterpoint, Xiaomi was able to overtake Samsung in terms of market shares in the last quarter of 2017. The specifications of the Samsung M series mobile phones are still very unclear. Amazon has already listed the mobile phones and from there people have able to figure out that these phones will come with a dual camera and a fear facing a fingerprint sensor.

More and more phones are now changing their charging port to USB Type C and Samsung also did the same thing with the Samsung Galaxy M. People are also very happy to find out that Samsung has retained the headphone jack.

Samsung India’s senior vice President Asim Warsi said in an interview with Reuters:

“The cost of the phones will be between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 because we are focusing on building phones which are budget oriented. The phones will also come with fast charging and large battery.”

After Samsung lost to Xiaomi at the end of 2017, it tried to fight back the Chinese company in 2018 by Xiaomi added more phones in the mid-range section, making it impossible for Samsung to overtake them. Samsung is very sure that with the help of this phone, they will definitely be able to overtake Xiaomi and take their position back which they had earlier lost to the Chinese company.
